Cast Thinking Study - Gold Buffer Torc Necklace

This image shows a hollow gold torc of "fused-buffer" type, with decorated terminals that are fused together unearthed in Ardnaglug Bog, Knock, Taghmaconnell, Athlone, Roscommon Ireland. This piece is dated 400-200 BCE and is comparable examples have been found on the Continent. The terminals and flanking cone-shaped mouldings bear repoussé decoration in the form of a continuous series of S-shapes and spirals, all of which terminate in round bosses. The background is dotted to accentuate the raised design. For the sake of this project I have excluded the decoration until I understand more about the abilities of the CNC tool.

This image shows a chamfer on the terminals.

4 point perspective of the work before slicing.

Green = pipe command
Purple = pipe and trim
Blue = Pipe, trim, chamfer
Grey = this is a combination of pipe, trim, chamfer and 2 rail sweep

Use of polysurface to slice the object.

A positive, and negative of my work.

My goal is to create this piece in glass. My first piece will be solid, by creating a press mold, therefore the mold on the left will be used with the adjustment of the male/female slots. however, my goal is to create this as a hallow form in glass. Using the Pate de Verre method, this would likely be open face mold with a tack fuse to join the 2 half's. But, I would like to find out if it can be done as a closed or press mold AND be hallow form.
